We are pleased to offer this Circa 1850 Empire Secretary made from Cherry, Oak and Pine woods. Has a drop front desk in the center with pigeon hole cubby's for all types of papers. It comes with the original key to lock the desk and the lock does work. The top & bottom sections have two cabinet doors each which open up to one large space and both have one fixed shelf. The top has a lock which doesn't have a key, the bottom just has a latch. There is also a large drawer which opens and closes smoothly. This piece has a lot of minor defects which are part of the overall character and charm of the piece. The main problems with it are there is a large ink spot on the front top. The inside of the drop front panel is worn from use, we can add a piece of felt or leather if desired at an additional cost and finally there was a repair on the center left hand side. All other issues are what one would expect to be find on a piece this old. A great piece of American Period Furniture that would make a great addition to any home and a wonderful investment as well.
